CMMC 2.0 — Level 2

CMMC Level 2

Level 2 requires full implementation of all 110 NIST SP 800-171 practices and, for most DoD programs, a formal assessment by a CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO). We prepare you for that assessment and coordinate the process.

What's included

Everything in the package

C3PAO-ready documentation
We build the full documentation set a C3PAO will review — SSP, POA&M, policies, procedures, and evidence packages — before the assessment begins.
Mock assessment
A simulated C3PAO-style assessment that surfaces any remaining gaps before the real assessment — avoiding failed findings and costly re-assessments.
C3PAO coordination
We help you select a qualified C3PAO, schedule your assessment, and manage the logistics so the process moves as smoothly as possible.
Questions

Common questions

Does every DoD contractor need a C3PAO assessment?

Not all. Some programs allow self-assessment for Level 2. However, for DoD programs handling sensitive CUI (prioritized acquisitions), a C3PAO assessment is required. Your case manager will confirm which applies to your contracts.

What happens if I fail the C3PAO assessment?

A failed assessment results in a Conditional CMMC certificate with a remediation deadline. We help you address all findings quickly and resubmit for re-assessment.

How long does Level 2 certification last?

Level 2 certifications are valid for 3 years. Annual affirmations are required in years 2 and 3.
